Message from the Guru

Dr. Pradip N Khandwalla [Director 1986-1992,
IIM-Ahmedabad]
Doctoral guide of prasad sundararajan
[circa 2001]
Dear Sundararajan,
Creativity bred civilization; but it could also
destroy it. The challenge is
to let creativity loose
but see to it that it is not used for destructive,
unethical purposes. This is difficult because we live
in a greedy society. We must find social means of
ensuring that creativity is channeled for constructive
purposes.
For us in India the necessity of creativity is
especially acute.
We are miles behind the
leading edges of the world in productivity, product
quality, customer orientation, governance, and quality
of life. Globalization is exposing our industries, our
institutions, and even individual occupations, to
unprecedented competitive pressures. But the
opportunities are also exceptionally exciting.
Today, thanks to IT and
telephony, literally millions of people can contribute
to the defining as well as solution of personal,
local, regional, as well as global problems.
I hope that [your institution] will grow and
contribute to the unfolding of the
Age of Aquarius in our country.
Best wishes,
Sincerely
Pradip N. Khandwalla
