:
... the story
of the ultra-ordinary search
of an
ordinary
Prasad Sundararajan.
Dear
Friends,
I must indicate at least a few of the critical turning points in the
background of research-development from which the figure of Genius
Psychologics was evolved. A few great teachers and guides who rendered
my own psychology
Genius level to seek and search.
[Drawing by Shivamayi]
In
sequential order:
-
My great Gurus in the form of Father who inducted me into
tuning with the Nature-process outside and inside and Mother who
trained me to observe, think, and create understanding about
things that I wanted to know.
1973
-
Prof.
T Simon, HOD of Psychology, UC College, Alwaye who publicly
recognized and appreciated the activities of ‘SECONDS’
['Psychological Explanation & Cognitive Direction Service': for
discussing the scope of Genius evolution of students, which
attracted almost the entire students of the college - 1977-79].
1979
-
Dr,
Gopala Pillai, Dr. EI George, and Dr. Sam Sanandaraj who
almost forced me into a PhD topic that really struck my heart:
‘A study on the Personality Factors of Creative Under-achievers
in Secondary Schools’. Because, I saw myself a ‘Genius
under-achiever’. Year 1979, Kerala University Dept. of
Psychology.
-
1983
A real 'Critical
Turning Point' gifted
by the
loving benevolence of a great lady 'K.......' and her
family - inviting a forlorn and
erratic-eccentric guy and inspiring him to try XLRI for survival..
Greater the
troubles transcended greater the turning point quality.
-
The
extremely rigorous training in research methodologies with Dr.
Baldev Raj Sharma, Sir JG Gandhi Chair Professor at XLRI
Jamshedpur,
-
Dr.
Durlabhji, Visiting Faculty at XLRI-Jamshedpur who inducted me
into the magnificent world of Zen and Tao. Year 1983.
-
Dr.
Howard J Baumgartel, Emeritus Professor in Psychology &
Business of Kansas University, who trained me in advanced
Statistical tools and methodologies
1987
-
Dr. Pradip N Khandwalla of
IIM-A who accepted me as a Doctoral
Student particularly during
his tenure as the Director of IIM-A
-
-
Dr.
David c McClelland who trained me in the concept and principles
of ‘Competency’ and his
unique method of Behavioural Event
Interview [BEI], inspired me to ‘interview’ at least 1,500
individuals since 1986 – that, finally every meeting became a
BEI and revealed a great lot of the hidden iceberg. ... that I became
a ‘searcher’ even in my sleep and dreaming.
And, of course, an extremely unique
individual
who really lived a lot of her
inspiration to see the
'dream come true:
'...
but unable to sustain it for long.
the one who entered
as a 'student' and left as a 'master' : 1989 disillusioned
with the futile goals of the Master and the 'eccentricities' of
the Master's genius
The old UC College 'SECONDS' transformed into
'School for Creative Perspective'
By
1992, I realized that there are a lot of ‘Genius
under-achievers’. That almost every human being ends up a
Genius-underachiever - unless mission fulfilled, purpose of
existence actualised, and so on.
And
I started working on Genius
Psychologics and training students in our
institution named [at that time] School for Creative Perspective [at Cochin, the most
literate State of India].
By
2003, by virtue of the great [lack of] appreciation for
anything new, a patent mental block of people that did not leave even
the levels of Jesus, Galileo, Socrates,
Nietzsche, Einstein, etc among the well-known... the School of 'Creative'
Perspective was closed more than seven times, and finally it seemed
conducive to restart it in the brilliant location of the mountainous
regions of Coimbatore.
The Final Design
School for Creative Perspective evolved
finally into Geiustemple
The final design has been evolved out of the discussions between two
individuals.
Dr. Prasad Sundararajan and S. Shivamayi.
Shivamayi herself is a clear evidence of the
Genius
evolution probable-possible for an individual. [Of course, all the
other 25+ trainees or ‘apprentices’ too could be ‘empowered with
their own competencies [in the language of John Naisbit, who predicted
the mega-trend that people will be empowered by their own abilities].
In fact, the training in Genius-Psychologics would empower individuals
by their ‘competencies’ [David McClelland] and at >+3 Sigma
level].
What I could find since 1974 of my research, Shiva would quickly sum
up and
provide either a totally unique perspective about it or provide a
turning point clue.
As
a result, the institution named ‘School for Creative
Perspective’ started in 1992 at Cochin, has been re-named, ‘School of Creative-Psychologics’ and
shifted to Coimbatore by 2005 and shifted to Kalimangalam renamed
finally to
'Geniustemple' having three domains of activities: 'Institute of
Creative Management', 'Institute of Creative Intelligence', and
'Jeevi-Yoga'
